Aluminium power cables are preferred in many power transmission and distribution applications due to their lightweight construction, mechanical strength, and cost-effectiveness compared to copper cables. Although their electrical conductivity is lower than that of copper, they can be produced in larger cross-sections to achieve the same current-carrying capacity, providing efficient power transmission.
